Support at Home

Parents can best support their student(s) by signing their daily agenda/homework assignments. This confirms with me that parents are being proactive and staying current on their student’s daily/weekly assignments and academic progress in school.  Students should read each night; it’s always beneficial for students to read aloud- taking turns with parents/older siblings, or family members if necessary.  Ask your student questions about what they have read to encourage comprehension.  If a parent notices that his/her student is struggling, please reach out to me. We make a good team if we communicate and believe/support the same growth path our students. Please make time or efforts to teach skills such as organization and time management. Please encourage autonomy, honesty, and good character traits.

Classroom Newsletter/ Homework Policy

ATTENTION: Allergens/Sensitivities: No Nuts, No Fragrances

Homework will be given every Monday (unless otherwise specified in agenda or newsletter) and will be turned in the following Monday. You are responsible for reading a minimum of 20-minutes each night and for reaching your identified Blended Learning Goals (for Reading, ST Math, and i-Ready). Homework will total about 50-minutes of work each weekday night. Students may have to complete their assignments during the weekend if they do not finish them in class during the week. Homework will be accepted three-days after the due date, deducting 10% off the earned grade each day it is late. Students that fail to turn in their assignments will not receive extensions, unless otherwise stated in a learning plan. The homework policy is subject to change to fit the needs of a diverse classroom.

Please refer to weekly newsletter below for homework and announcements.
